Description

The Stinger is a cocktail that exudes sophistication and simplicity, blending the warm richness of cognac with the cool, minty freshness of white crème de menthe.

The classic of classic cocktails, the Stinger’s origins trace back to the early 20th century and is often served as an after-dinner drink, offering a refreshing yet potent sip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz or 60 ml Cognac
  • 1 oz or 30 ml White crème de menthe
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prep: Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
  2. Combine: Add cognac and white crème de menthe.
  3. Mix: Stir well until the mixture is chilled.
  4. Pour: Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or over ice in an old-fashioned glass.

Notes

Unlike many cocktails that are shaken, the Stinger is stirred to preserve the clarity and smoothness of the cognac, preventing dilution (due to shaking with ice) and ensuring a seamless blend of flavours.
