Ingredients
- 2 oz of 60 ml Aged rum
- 3/4 oz or 45 ml Lime juice
- 1/2 oz or 15 ml Orgeat syrup
- 1/2 oz or 15 ml Orange liqueur
- Mint sprig (for garnish)
- Lime wheel (for garnish)
Instructions
- Mix: Combine rum, lime juice, orgeat syrup, and orange liqueur in a shaker with ice.
- Combine: Shake well and strain into an ice-filled glass.
- Garnish: Add a mint sprig and lime wheel.
Notes
The Mai Tai’s name means “the best” in Tahitian, a fitting tribute to this iconic cocktail.
Its creation is credited to either Trader Vic (Victor Jules Bergeron) or Don the Beachcomber in the 1940s, each claiming to have invented the drink.
