Description

The Juan Collins is a refreshing twist on the classic Tom Collins cocktail, substituting gin for tequila to bring a vibrant Mexican flair to the traditional mix.

This cocktail recipe blends the smooth, agave-rich flavour of tequila with the bright acidity of lemon juice, sweetened slightly with simple syrup and topped off with the fizz of soda.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz or 60 ml Tequila
  • 1 oz or 30 ml Fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz or 15 ml Simple syrup
  • Soda water, to top
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wheel or wedge (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Fill a Collins glass with ice cubes.
  2. Mix: Add the tequila, lemon juice, and simple syrup to the glass and stir.
  3. Finish: Top with soda water to fill the glass.
  4. Garnish: Lemon wheel or wedge.

Notes

A fusion of the Tom Collins and the Margarita, the Juan Collins skips the triple sec in favour of the lighter soda water to showcase tequila’s versatile flavour.
