Description

The Gin Gimlet is a classic gin cocktail from the early 20th century that offers refreshing elegance and style with a minimalistic approach.

Made with just 3 ingredients: gin, lime juice, and simple syrup, the Gin Gimlet is a testament to the idea that incredible things can come in simple packages.

Whether you’re a cocktail enthusiast or just looking for a delightful drink, our Gin Gimlet recipe ensures a timeless choice that never disappoints.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz or 30 ml Gin (such as Tanqueray)
  • 1/2 oz or 15 ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz or 15 ml Simple Syrup
  • Ice
  • Lime Wheel (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Fill a shaker with ice and add all the ingredients.
  2. Mix: Shake well until the outside of the shaker feels cold.
  3. Pour: Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish:  Use a lime wheel for that retro look.

Notes

The Gin Gimlet was traditionally made with Rose’s lime juice, a preserved, sweetened lime juice. Fresh lime juice provides a more vibrant, zesty flavour.

I find that the simplicity of the recipe makes it an excellent foundation for experimentation, so feel free to adjust the sweetness or tartness to suit your taste.
