Description

The Brandy Daisy cocktail harks back to the golden age of mixology, offering a classic blend of brandy, rum, lemon juice, and a splash of orange liqueur for sweetness.

Our Brandy Daisy recipe also allows for an optional lighter version by topping it up with soda water for a lighter and more balanced cocktail experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz or 60 ml Brandy (or Cognac)
  • 1/2 oz or 15 ml Dark rum
  • 1/2 oz or 15 ml Lemon juice
  • 1/4 oz or 7.5 ml Orange Curaçao liqueur
  • 1/4 oz or 7.5 ml Sugar syrup
  • Soda water (optional for topping up)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon twist or orange slice (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine: In a shaker, combine brandy, rum, lemon juice, and grenadine (or any orange liqueur) with ice.
  2. Mix: Shake well until the mixture is chilled.
  3. Pour: Strain into a chilled glass filled with ice.
  4. Optional: Top up with a splash of club soda for a lighter version.
  5. Garnish: A lemon twist or an orange slice.

Notes

The term “Daisy” in cocktail terminology traditionally refers to a family of drinks that combine spirit, citrus, and a sweetener, often served over ice with a fruit garnish.

The Brandy Daisy distinguishes itself by using brandy as the base spirit, offering a deeper flavour profile that pairs beautifully with the tartness of lemon and the sweetness of grenadine.
