Thick-cut Seville orange peel is a flavoured vodka steamed and macerated with Chase Original Potato Vodka for two infusing days adding extra flavour and texture. Chase Marmalade Vodka is then allowed to rest, resulting in a delicious zesty marmalade vodka with a jammy, tangy kick.

The main benefit of Chase Marmalade Vodka is that it adds a jammy, tangy, citrus vodka kick to any cocktail; plus, it can even be sipped neat over ice.

Zesty bitter orange

Tangy orange marmalade with subtle jammy undertones and slight orangy sweetness mid-palate. This vodka finishes with a bittersweet zesty bite that lingers nicely.

Overview

  • Distiller: Chase
  • ABV: 40% (80 Proof)
  • Country: England
  • Colour: Rhubarb Pink

Review

The freshly cut ripe rhubarb is slowly cooked to soften the stalks and release all the flavorful juices. The rhubarb is then laid in Chase’s Original Potato Vodka to soak and infuse before being re-distilled.

The addition of soaked and softened rhubarbs during the filtration process adds a lovely pale rose pink colour to the vodka. The result is a smooth aromatic English Rhubarb Vodka.

On The Nose

The nose is ripe rhubarb with a hint of vanilla custard.

On The Palate

The rhubarb bouquet then intensifies into a freshly baked rhubarb crumble on the palate, with a well-balanced tart and sweet finish.

Best Served

Chase English Rhubarb Vodka is best served with ice, tonic water, and a slice of lemon. You can also use it in a tongue-twisting Rhubarb Sour cocktail or try it in a Cape Codder.

Overview

  • Distiller: Chase
  • ABV: 40% (80 Proof)
  • Country: England
  • Colour: Soft Gold

Review

The Chase Distilleries have retained a limited amount of their zesty Marmalade Vodka. They then matured their marmalade vodka for a long four years in used cognac casks and created masterful limited edition vodka.

The ageing process enhances the bittersweet flavours and introduces smooth oak and dried fruit, making this beauty lean more towards a cognac than a vodka.

On The Nose

Notes of spicy, zesty marmalade on toasted rye on the nose.

On The Palate

Opens with rich bitter orange peel and hints of dried fruit, oak, and crisp grape mid-palate. A long and feisty finish of bitter orange and sweet grape.

Best Served

Chase Cognac Cask Aged Marmalade Vodka is flawlessly served neat over ice. It also works well as the foundation for a Spicy Marmalade cocktail.

Ingrid’s Top Pick

bottle of Chase Marmalade Vodka

Chase Marmalade Vodka

I selected Chase Marmalade Vodka as my top pick because the tangy, jammy, bittersweet orange marmalade is lifted by a subtle orange sweetness mid-palate. The finish is crisp and moreish.

Chase Vodka Q&A

How Is Chase Vodka Made?

Special variety potatoes such as King Edward, Lady Claire, and Lady Rosetta potatoes are used for making Chase Original potato vodka. The potatoes are peeled, heated, and then mashed, with yeast added to aid fermentation.

The fermented mash is then distilled through a copper pot still, ensuring a smooth tasting pure vodka. The ABV is lowered to a drinkable 40% by diluting it with water drawn from their on-site borehole.

Is Chase Vodka Any Good?

Chase Original Potato Vodka took top honours at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2010. A panel of thirty judges blind tested over 249 vodkas and placed Chase Original Potato Vodka first, beating top vodka producing rivals from Poland and Russia.

Conclusion

Chase Original Potato Vodka is an award-winning spirit that Chase Distilleries uses to create a selection of their fine infused vodkas. The best Chase vodkas range from bittersweet marmalade, tart rhubarb, and even a limited-edition English smoked oak.
